How to Treat Estrogen-Deficient Skin

How to Treat Estrogen-Deficient Skin

The more birthdays you have under your belt, the more you’ll notice it. The aging process might affect everyone differently to some degree, but there’s no escaping it! For women, in particular, the body goes through a lot of changes, and this is especially true during perimenopause and menopause. Common symptoms of menopause include night sweats, hot flashes, and insomnia. But, that’s not all! Estrogen loss also occurs, which can have detrimental effects on the skin. As if menopause wasn’t enough of a hassle already!

It’s easy to chalk up changes in the skin to getting older, but that might not be the only culprit. Estrogen plays an important part in how skin functions. When menopause causes a reduction in estrogen, the skin becomes thin and dry, shows more wrinkles, and may become itchy. So, what can women do to fight the signs of aging caused by menopause?

Estrogen Products

Traditionally, women have turned to oral or topical estrogen products to combat the unpleasant effects of menopause. While some of these products work well for individuals, unfortunately, some of these estrogen products can lead to an increase in systemic estrogen and unwanted hormonal-related side effects. If you are not comfortable with hormone replacement therapy, you might be in search of another option.

There’s good news, though! Alternatives are now on the market. These products can significantly improve the detrimental effects menopause has on the skin. Emepelle and Biopelle are two of the leading products in treating estrogen-deficient skin. They don’t have the unwanted side effects associated with taking estrogen pills orally, either. Women everywhere can rejoice!

Emepelle

Emepelle uses MEP technology to restore lost collagen and improve the appearance of estrogen-deficient skin. It does not contain estrogen and isn’t a hormone replacement therapy. It only acts on the skin and not the rest of the body, unlike many other treatments for menopause symptoms. It helps with dryness and dullness and increases the laxity of the skin. Emepelle products include serums and night creams.

Biopelle

Biopelle is another line of products designed to fight the signs of aging. It uses a stem cell technology called Cryptomphalus aspersa, which is mollusk egg extract. Biopelle products reduce fine lines and wrinkles and even out the skin tone, leading to healthy, younger-looking skin. It is applied topically and there is a wide variety of Biopelle products to choose from.
