“I love how I look in filtered selfies.  I wish I always looked like that.”  Filters highlight all our best features.  What’s not to like?  Much of the reason people like how they look with filters is because they help balance their features.  Facial balancing is one of the new catchphrases in the world of aesthetics.  While it has been around for many years, it is coming to the forefront of the beauty world.  Facial balancing is affordable and non-invasive.  If you feel like your facial features are imbalanced, then facial balancing by a trained aesthetician is perfect for you.

Facial balancing is about your facial features being proportionate to each other.  It gives your face a balanced look that many people find desirable and pursue through fillers administered by a professional.  Med spas, like Fountain of You in Melbourne, FL, offer the services that provide you with the facial balance you desire.

If you have ever felt that your nose seemed too big for your face or your chin was too pointy compared to other rounded facial features, then you desire facial balancing even though you may never have known the name of it.  You may have thought the only way to change the facial features that bother you is through expensive cosmetic surgery, but that is not the case.  This article will discuss facial balancing and how to achieve it.  And, it does not include a facelift!

What Is Facial Balancing?

Facial balancing is the service provided by professional aestheticians that uses dermal fillers to achieve proportional (balanced) facial features. Achieving a more balanced facial appearance does not require cosmetic surgery.  Some people may choose cosmetic surgery to achieve their facial balancing goals permanently.  However, if you are not interested in surgery, can’t afford surgery, or are not sure you will like the results, facial balancing through dermal fillers may be the perfect solution for you.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

This is an important question because not everyone knows what dermal fillers are.  You may have a vague idea, but understanding fillers will give you a better idea of what they can achieve for your facial balance.

Fillers increase the volume in your face.  Some of you may feel an instant aversion to the idea.  You may be thinking that you want to look thin, so why would you want to add volume to your face?  When your face is gaunt (very thin, sunken cheeks, etc.) it can make you appear older than you are.  Think about the round face of a child.  If a 5-year-old had sunken cheeks, they would appear older.  When it comes to anti-aging, your face is one area where fuller looks younger!

What Fillers Does Fountain of You Offer?

At Fountain of You, we carry an array of fillers because your skin and your desired outcome are unique to you.  Fillers are not a “one size fits all” skin treatment.  Let’s look at some of our popular fillers.

Juvederm Fillers – Juvederm offers a full line of fillers.  Juvederm’s Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC, Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella are all offered at Fountain of You. Juvederm Ultra XC is great for creating fuller lips and filling in nasolabial lines (lines from your nose to your mouth).  Sometimes something as small as fuller lips can make the lower half of your face look more proportional to your nose.  Voluma can help fill hollow cheeks giving your face a more youthful and less angular look.  Vollure is also good for nasolabial lines, as well as “marionette lines” from your mouth to your chin.  Volbella is good for lips and the small lines around your lips (the lines where your lipstick bleeds).
Restylane Fillers – Restylane also offers a full line of fillers.  Restylanes’ Lyft, Sylk, Defyne, and Refyne are offered at Fountain of You.  Lyft is used for the cheeks and nasolabial folds.  Sylk is used for treating fuller lips and filling in lines around the mouth.  Defyne can also be used for nasolabial folds and can be used to define the shape of the chin.  This can help reduce the appearance of a double chin aiding in facial balancing.  Refyne address lines around the mouth area.  Restylane fillers can also be used to fill in under-eye hollowness which can not only add to facial imbalance but can also cause you to look tired or older.

Juvederm and Restylane are Hyaluronic Acid fillers.  Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced in your body which means you are unlikely to have any adverse effects from these fillers.

Bellafill – Bellafill is a collagen-based filler.  Bellafill can be applied to cheeks, chin, lips, and the areas around the nose and mouth to decrease the appearance of lines, create a fuller appearance, and help balance facial features.
Radiesse – Radiesse is a calcium-based filler.  Radiesse is used particularly for moderate to severe facial lines.  A unique feature of Radiesse is that it is the first and only FDA-approved filler for treating volume loss on the backs of your hands.  While that has nothing to do with facial balancing, returning lost volume to your hands will bring about body balancing – your face and hands will look proportionately youthful.
